Clair De Lune 2023 Ready-Couture Collection

Clair De Lune 2023 Ready-Couture Collection

Videmus Omnia returns with a new ‘Ready-Couture’ season-less collection for 2023. For the first time, the bold collection is complemented by must-have handmade bags and jewelries. Inspired by the impressionistic paintings of Pierre-Auguste Renoir and the unorthodox music of Claude Debussy, designer Yun Qu has applied her unique style, silhouettes and expert material manipulation to create a fresh vision.

Always looking to music, Qu has sought to capture the ethereal, irregular and unconventional musical compositions that emerged in the late 19th century. As well as looking to the dream-like paintings of Renoir she has included the bolder colours of Japanese culture during the Edo period.

The new season-less collection features an array of dresses, separates, bolero jackets, overcoats, bags and jewelries. Using tapestry, linen, cotton, silk and brocade alongside metal hardware, ruffles and fringing. Qu has created unconventional textures and shapes that work in harmony or deliberate discord with her materials. With her rich brocades and fine tapestries, she has reimagined Renoir’s floral scenes or the Hokusai’s exquisite line-work. Her new bags continue in the confident couture-style construction she is known for, with one bag inspired by the structure and silhouette of a corset.

Bridging the gap between inaccessible haute couture and ready-to-wear fashion, Ready-Couture offers the luxury, refinement, and artistry of haute couture at a more accessible price point. Quality and design aren’t compromised, but rather considerations for scale handmade production become part of a mindful and considered design process. A more sustainable solution than resource-intense singular production or resource-wasting overproduction, Ready-Couture seeks to offer unique long-lasting pieces within the reach of consumers who prize quality.

The new collection also shifts away from the restricted seasonal model, once again emphasizing considered high-quality design over excessive production. Now an annual offering, the 2023 collection is more sustainable than any Videmus Omnia collection that has gone before. Yun Qu has doubled down on the practice of incorporating dead-stock materials and renewed her focus on small-scale artisan fabrication, handmade quality and reducing design and production waste.

The new Videmus Omnia 2023 collection, continues to embrace the sustainable, slow fashion ethic, championing conscious design and incredible craftsmanship. With this comprehensive edit, Yun Qu’s intellectual inspirations combine beautifully with her mastery of textiles to create a new ethereal aesthetic.
